Yoga focuses the whole human being, which is not only the body, but mind and soul. Yoga and Ayurveda together form a complete approach for optimal health, vitality and higher awareness.
As Beauty therapists we see first-hand the physical effects of stress on the body. Problematic skin, and stiffness and knots in the body caused by muscle tension. Practicing yoga is a simple way to help switch the body’s nervous system from sympathetic, (fight, flight or freeze) to the parasympathetic nervous system, which restores the body to a sense of calm.
During a yoga practice we use the breath as an anchor into the present moment, we call this breathwork Pranayama. Pranayama is an excellent tool for treating psychological and emotional disorders, and is excellent to counter depression, release grief and attachment, and reduce stress
and tension. It is much more effective at raising our spirits than any stimulant or drug. Pranayama not only exercises the lungs but all the organs in the body trough the internal massage action of inhalation and exhalation. This massaging action improves circulation to the organs and dispels
toxins to the digestive tract for elimination. It sets up a deep and powerful organic rhythm to sustain not only strength but calmness of mind.
We can help you to create a personalised morning and evening routine, with mantras and affirmations, to reduce anxiety and improve clarity, re-balance and align your energy and physical body. These bespoke yoga sequences are for each individual client, of all fitness levels.
