Cupping massage is used to relieve pain, improve blood flow, reduce inflammation and also for general relaxation. It involves glass cups being suctioned to the skin using a flame to create a vacuum. Whilst cupping massage is a deep form of massage, I would describe it as reverse massage as when the cups are moved over the skin it pulls the muscle and loosens tension as opposed to normal massage where the muscles is compressed to ease out tension. It is completely normal for bruising to be left after cupping, it can vary from person to person the extent of the bruising and how long it takes to fade
